Sumatran Tigers

Sumatran Tigers are in the cat family. The Latin name for Sumatran tigers is panthera tigris sumatrae.

Dynamics
Every tiger in the world is unique – no two tigers in the world have the same pattern of stripes.
A mother tiger is called a tigeress.  She has about three cubs at once. At first she hides them in a cave or bush. New cubs drink their mother’s milk and they grow fast.
Tigers hunt at night. They catch frogs and insects. They can see well in the dark and their whiskers help them to feel their   way in the grass.

Diet
Their diet is buffalo, deer, wild pigs and antelopes.

Habitat
The Sumatran tiger is natively found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra they live  in  jungles.

Sadly they have been put away in small enclosures for people to look at in zoos and they are being killed for their skins and meat.
